CORPORATE WORKHOPS & RETREATS

Work-life balance is not just about flexible work schedules.  Pervasive workplace stress affects organisational performance due to costs associated with increased absenteeism, staff turnover, reduced productivity, increased unsafe work practices and accidents, increased complaints from clients/customers, replacement of absent workers, and so on.  Mindfulness is a natural adjunct to your existing wellness programmes, and also complements your internal initiatives toward a positive corporate culture.

Building the mindfulness muscle takes practice and exposure.  Companies like General Mills, Nike, Goldman Sachs, and Google (just to name a few) all have in-house mindfulness programmes because it has been shown to have a meaningful impact in the workplace, and bottom-line.

The Caribbean Mindfulness Institute is pleased to be the premier regional body to offer workplace programmes that will help you to introduce and integrate mindfulness into your organization.  Send us an email to get started.

MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)

The world-renowned, clinically validated, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme is a non-religious educational workshop that uses mindfulness, meditation, and body awareness to reduce the effects of chronic stress, depression, and anxiety on our minds and bodies.  In addition, it fosters self-compassion and resilience, essential qualities that will help you cope with difficult situations without losing your peace of mind.

Taken over 8 consecutive weeks, each class is 2 1/2 hours long, requires a commitment to practice in-between sessions, and mandatory participation in an all-day silent retreat.

LEARN TO MEDITATE - MODERN MINDFULNESS FOR A BUSY LIFE

Taken over 5 weeks, each class is 1-hour long and will explore the foundations of mindfulness meditation practice - mindfulness of the breath, mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of emotions, and lovingkindness.  Under your teacher's expert and caring guidance, you'll learn how to focus on your breathing in order to become more present, work with the breath in a way that allows you to be more calm, and understand how to convert the principles of mindfulness into everyday life.  At the end of the 5 Weeks you will feel confident to continue meditating on your own, and skillfully use mindfulness techniques in real-life situations to reduce stress.  Usually held on Sunday afternoons, each class is an opportunity for you to centre and recharge yourself for the week to come.

MINDFULNESS FOR LIFE
(also known as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life)

Sometimes referred to as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life, or MBCT-L,  Mindfulness for Life is an in-depth 8-week course for those wishing to improve their general wellbeing.  The structured, evidence-based, curriculum consists of mindfulness practices and cognitive-behavioural techniques that will help participants learn how to respond skillfully to life's challenges, become less reactive, and develop techniques to support the well-being of themselves and others.  It is an evidence-based course, developed in the light of research at Oxford University and other leading research centres.
